Judging Committee Announced for the 1996 Information Authorship Award

Foster City, Calif., June 24, 1996— Information Access Company (IAC) and Online Inc., co-sponsors of the 15th annual Information Authorship Award, take great pleasure in announcing the judging committee for this year’s award program.

The Information Authorship Award, which is comprised of three writing awards, ranks among the oldest and most prestigious in the information industry. This year’s Information Authorship Award will be presented at the Online World Conference & Expo, which will be held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. on Monday, October 28, 1996. The presentation of the awards will precede the keynote address.

The 1996 Information Authorship Award Program recognizes superior scholarship in the following areas: best article appearing in eitherONLINEorDATABASEmagazine; best article appearing inCD-ROM PROFESSIONALmagazine; and best column. Recipients of the 1996 award for best article will each receive a $1,000 cash prize. The award-winning regular columnist will receive a $500 cash prize.

Winners are chosen by a committee of internationally distinguished information industry professionals who select the most outstanding articles and column from the previous year’s issues ofONLINE, DATABASE, AND CD-ROM PROFESSIONAL. Articles and columns are judged on insight, practicality, content, scholarship, style, and impact on the industry.

The eight information professionals on this year’s judging committee are broken out into two separate panels– one that judges best article appearing in ONLINE or DATABASE; and one that judges best article appearing inCD-ROM PROFESSIONAL. Members from both panels will judge best column.
