D3 Services Granted U.S.’s First GSA Contract for Secure
Destruction and 100% Green Recycling of eWaste

Service Area Expansion Planned for the First Truly Auditable Destruction of Digital
Content and Completely Green Solution

TAMPA, FL (June 11, 2008) – At the Tampa Bay Technology Forum, central Florida’s largest and most influential technology association, Digital Data Destruction Services (D3) today announced that it has been granted the United States’ first General Services Administration (GSA) contract for the secure destruction and 100% green recycling of electronic media. HIPAA, FACTA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, and Sarbanes-Oxley ompliant, D3’s patented equipment is the first of its kind to be approved for the safe destruction of classified military data.

The green recycling of the electronic media by-products makes D3 the only company in the United States to comply fully with the existing eWaste legislation passed in five states, and soon to be the industry norm across the US.

“This GSA contract addresses the rapidly growing need to comply with the digital data destruction requirements of HIPAA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, FACTA and Sarbanes-Oxley Federal legislation” said Dr. Roger Hutchison, President and CEO of D3. “Simple shredding of electronic media is both an unsafe business practice, and it carries a carboncost passed on to future generations. D3 is on the leading edge of pioneering the Nation’s first truly auditable destruction of the digital content on media, and then providing the green recycling for all the remaining by-products. This GSA contract also immediately opens the door for our rapid expansion into other major cities across America.”

Through GSA contract GS-10F-0137U under Schedule 899-5, D3 now servicesWiscons in and Minnesota. However, plans are already well underway to expand to include Southern California, Texas, Massachusetts, Colorado, as well as the Washington DC region.

To date, D3 offers the only commercially available ISO 9002 compliant destruction process for hard drives, tapes, flash, and optical media using equipment evaluated and in use by the Department of Defense for the destruction of classified data. The quality control procedures, high security equipment and personnel, the fact that all by-products are recycled, and now the Government certification all give D3 a unique position in this growing eWaste niche.
